Using avatars as teachers in school is good as it with teaching in overloaded classrooms and increases the learning of the students. The use of avatars allows them to combine gestures, actions, facial expressions, visual cues, and lip-synchronized speech, making the conversations between the teacher and the students realistic and engaging as you can see from the CNA video.
However, it could be a worrying trend in education to downsize the budget and get away with unpaid robots instead of human teachers. For example, imagine all school teachers are replaced by avatars, they will be put out of work and this leads to a great fall in the economy. Furthermore, it is a bad idea! What happens if software breakdown, power failure or loss of emotional connection occurs? Does that mean that the students get to “skive” when that happens? Besides, avatars are unable to replace humans as teachers because they are just human-like robots with no feelings. Hence, there will be no bonding made between teacher and students during lessons.
Therefore, I STRONGLY DISAGREE THAT it is a good idea to use avatars to replace human teachers in schools.
