I feel strongly that having avatars as teachers will never be able to replace the effectiveness of having a human teacher. Robots are also quick learners themselves, and have potential to function as “infinitely patient, highly informed instructors that would be effective in subjects like foreign language or in repetitive therapies used to treat developmental problems like autism.” However, it may turn out that interfacing with too life-like “artificial people” may be a turn-off to many. Although it may seem that having robots as our teachers have many advantages, like being able to have more knowledge and answering more questions, but however, it must also be given a thought that it is the human heart and soul of the teacher that allows them to connect with the students, one important aspect that the robot cannot do.
