It is a not good idea to use avatars to replace humans as teachers in schools. This is so due to various reasons. Firstly, the teacher is not physically present, so he/she cannot control the class. The class might not be listening to what the teacher’s avatar is saying. They might not be paying attention in class and the avatar would not be able to do anything about it. Also, if a fight breaks out in the classroom, the teacher would not be able to break up the fight. Secondly, the interactivity between the students and teachers is minimized greatly. For example, if a student asks a question, the avatar might not be able to answer well enough to make the student understand. The avatar cannot use illustrations and drawings to help the students understand better. The avatar cannot use real life examples or demostrations to explain a certain thing to the student. Therefore, I feel that avatars should never replace humans in teaching the students.
